Celebrating April 15, 2026 and 24!! The power of pink ~ 24 extra wonderfully amazing years from diagnosis of breast cancer, 24 years of the power of G-d, power of amazing doctors, power of great friends and the making of new friends! Today my gardens are abloom in pink, from trees, shrubs, roses, annuals and perennials, as if dancing with me in delight of survival and re-birth. A few pink dogwood blossoms joined the dance as the breeze picked up. Thank you everyone, thank you G-d!! I am a survivor and it’s unbelievable fate that I found the right doctors! Ani modeh.

Shades of pink! Next week I will be installing Double Pink Knockout roses, Autumn Carnation azalea, Forest Pansy Redbud, Stellar Pink Dogwood, and perennials and annuals of blues, purples and other highlight colors. I'm on cloud pink to the 9's.

I am sincerely heartbroken over the passing of Walter Reeves. I copied this article in picture from Urban Agriculture writeup in an email they sent me.
I had the honor and pleasure of sitting next to him at industry conferences for landscaping and gardening. He was a mentor, not just to me but for much of his life to Georgia and beyond when it came to gardening. Anywhere you saw him he would stop and answer someone’s questions, even if it was at the store. Many years ago we were talking about which great climbing roses had prolific blooms. I told him I loved Climbing Pinky, how easy it was to grow and how many of the neighborhood kids would come to my yard to take their prom pictures in front of my Climbing Pinkie. Imagine my surprise when I saw shortly after in a garden magazine Walter answering a question about vines and climbers with my recommendation for Climbing Pinkie. There are very few nationally renowned gardening gurus and authors that are like him. Walter will truly be missed by those that knew him personally, or if only through his gardening shows, books and articles. May his memory be a blessing to all that knew him.
