☀️ Don't let summer heat beat your home! ☀️
As the temperatures rise, spending just a little time on home maintenance now can save you big bucks on energy bills and prevent major repairs later. 🛠️🏡
Here are 4 simple summer tasks every homeowner should tackle this month:
💨 1. Flip Your Fans & Filters
Switch your ceiling fans to spin counterclockwise to push a cool breeze downward. Don't forget to change your AC filter to keep your system running efficiently!
🌊 2. Clear Your Gutters
Summer storms are on the way. Clean out leaves and debris so heavy rains drain safely away from your roof and foundation.
🚪 3. Lock In the Cool Air
Check the caulking and weather-stripping around your windows and doors. Sealing up tiny gaps keeps the freezing AC air inside where it belongs.
☀️ 4. Protect Your Deck
Check your wooden deck or fence for soft spots or rot. Give it a good pressure wash and a fresh coat of sealant to protect it from harsh UV rays and summer rain.
Need a hand getting your home summer-ready? We are here to help tackle your to-do list so you can kick back and enjoy the season. 🌴
❄️ Clean out the coils on your A/C unit to keep it breathing properly!Turn off the unit, grab the garden hose and use the jet stream on your hose nozzle to spray out dirt and debris from the coils surrounding your ac compressor. Look inside while spraying and you’ll see a brown stream of water in spots with dirt buildup. Spray out until water runs clear. This will help the compressor stay cooler when running preventing overheating.

It’s time to shake off the winter dust! As the Texas heat starts to creep in, a little maintenance now saves a lot of sweat (and money) later. ☀️🔧
Here are 4 quick wins for your home this weekend:
*Breathable AC: Your outside unit has been sucking in leaves and dirt all winter. Gently spray the coils with a garden hose (don't use a pressure washer!) to keep it running efficiently and lower your electric bill. Energy.gov recommends this to maintain airflow.
*Gutter Check: Spring showers are coming. Make sure your gutters are clear so water moves away from your foundation, not into it.
Screen Refresh: Pop those window screens out and give them a soapy scrub. It’s finally time to let the fresh air in without the bugs!
*Dryer Vent: While you’re outside, check your dryer’s exterior exhaust vent. Clearing out lint buildup is one of the easiest ways to prevent a house fire.
A little "Spring Training" for your house goes a long way! 🏠💪

Tip 1 (Squeaky Door): Got a squeaky door driving you crazy? 🚪 30-second fix: Take a pencil and rub the graphite onto the hinge pin. No more noise! You can also use a little spray on pan coating oil to stop those pesky squeeks.

Tip 2 (Clogged Drain): Skip the harsh chemicals! 🚫
For slow sinks, try 1/2 cup baking soda followed by 1/2 cup vinegar. Let it sit for 15 mins, then pour boiling water.

Tip 3 (Drafty Window): Is your wallet getting thinner because of cold air? ❄️ Use caulking to seal your windows before the deep cold snaps! Need a hand? Let me know.

Like and share if this helps! Cheers to a great day!

Winter storm quick tips to be just a little more prepared before this weekend’s winter blast.

1: locate water shutoff valve and make it accessible just in case.

2. Cover all outside hose faucets, even a hand towel tied around it is better than nothing.

3. Drip a mixture of hot and cold water with a small stream of water coming out of the faucets. Especially ones on outside walls and the furthest one from the water line entry to the house to keep main line flowing through home.

4. in cases of power outages and extreme cold I’ve heard sometimes the pea trap for your washing machine may freeze and restrict flow and cause a flood when power comes back on and you start to do laundry again. Be present so you can stop the ma home just in case.

5. Make sure leaves are cleared from gutters to prevent ice buildup which can cause extra stress on the gutters which can pull them down. Ice buildup up in that area can also create water damage to the home as well so clear them out.

6. Check battery backups and flashlights so you have them all full of power along with power blocks for phones.

7. Leave caninet doors open to expose plumbing to heat especially on outer walls.

8. Power inverters are a lovely thing. They can be attached to a vehicle to get you some power in a pinch. They also have some nice ones that are quiet and can sit on your porch to run some power if needed.

9. Candles provide a small amount of heat in a pinch also. Some place candles underneath clay pots and the clay can radiate heat around as it warms from the flame.

10. Make sure the flues re open on your fireplaces if you’re using one of those to prevent any form of carbon monoxide buildup up in home. Use carbon monoxide detectors as this gas is odorless.

Stay warm and safe this winter and share this with a friend. You may save a life!
