The Grand Ring, built for Expo 2025 Osaka, has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's largest wooden architectural structure.

Covering over 61,000 square meters with a circumference of 2 kilometers, the ring symbolizes the Expo's theme of "unity in diversity" and incorporates timber from Japanese and European sources.

Architect Sou Fujimoto hopes the structure will inspire global connection amidst growing divisions

Built from 1977 to 1980, the Atlanta Central Library was the final work of Bauhaus-trained architect Marcel Breuer, and his only building in Atlanta. The building was designed in the Brutalist architectural style, and was regarded as a masterpiece by architectural experts such as Barry Bergdoll, the Chief Architectural Curator of the Museum of Modern Art. The design of the Central Atlanta Library is closely related to Breuer's 1966 design for the Whitney Museum of Art building in New York. (Photo: Marcel Breuer papers, 1920-1986.
