𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙩: The parent plants are in the last slide for reference. The pollen parent has dark (almost black) emergent leaves and intense veins characteristic of the Carlablackiae. The seed parent (mother plant) is a pure Papillilaminum, cultivated by and nicknamed “X-One” sharp shape. I discovered its variegation when it got older, as it displayed a metallic variegation that is very intense in emergent leaves, and it becomes more subtle as it hardens off. After a few weeks of hardening off, the color returns to the dark, velvety green that we love about Papillilaminum. The variegation of the mother plant seems to be a dominant trait, as I have seen it manifest in a lot of seedlings, especially bigger ones.

A. Magnificum x A. Papillilaminum has been restocked on our site! This particular seedling has golden emergent leaves which harden off to a dark velvety green (unless you’re blasting it with light like us 😅). Uniquely, the emergent stems are a gorgeous dark red. Only one available — don’t miss it!
