Not gonna lie, this very well could be my favorite crop.

Yes, top 3 for sure.
Onions are one of the most satisfying, most forgiving, simplest plants to grow for your home garden.
🧅For Austin Texas gardeners, we should be prepping the garden space in September and have onion seeds in by October to allow the long growing season to harvest BEFORE next year's spring heat.
🧅And the best part? If you miss the window for seeds, you can also get sets (baby starter onions, they look like a bunch of green onions), which mature faster and have a better production rate.
🧅And yes, you can harvest the greens as they grow (just not too much) and use as green onions in any home cooked dish!
🧅Bonus tip: be sure to FERTILIZE to get the big juicy bulbs you want!
