We like a Texas-sized challenge.

Someone asked if we could make our Halloween lanterns bigger.

Challenge accepted!

And, well...we think we crushed it.

Big brother and little brother.

Halloween color-changing lanterns are now available.

Hand cut from cedar and powered by solar lights, so when the sun goes down, the colors and the fun come out.

Still our most popular planter box.

Three tiers. Plenty of room for planting your herbs and flowers. Made from cedar to handle the outdoor life.

Today, this one finds a new home. We spent some time with it this morning, reassuring it that leaving the shop is a normal part of growing up.

It seems ready to go. Its siblings are being supportive and hope they will also find good homes.

Spent the day at the scroll saw getting faces ready for our Halloween lanterns, which will be available soon.

A little bit of something for everyone. Bats, Witches, The Creature (Frankenstein was the Doctor), Jack O' Lanterns, and Ghosts.

All cut by hand and made of cedar, so they're built to spend years outside in the elements. (Try saying that about decor from big box retailers.)

Just waiting on our colored solar lights to arrive to help give these a bit of pop when the sun goes down and the ghouls come out.

We made these cedar Jack O' Lanterns last year. They were nice, but we think we can make them better.

Last year's version used multicolored pop lights. They worked well, but they also meant you had to remember to turn them on and off...and eventually change the batteries.

This year, we are considering upgrading them to multicolored solar lighting. Same idea, but they charge during the day and then come on automatically at night.

No having to turn them on and off. Save a small fortune on batteries. And you get to choose what color works best for you.

What do you think? Worth the upgrade?

Ordered this week. Built this week. Already hanging in its new home.

This 2-foot cedar wind spinner was finished with tung oil to bring out the natural grain and color of the wood. Guaranteeing no two will ever come out exactly the same. We like that.

It's good to be back in the shop.

Prototyping out some more Halloween ideas.

This cedar tombstone was fun to make, and as the cedar naturally ages, the effect will only get better.

The blank area beneath the RIP also leaves plenty of room for your own personalized epitaph.

What would your epitaph say? Luci is partial to, "He died with his boots on, just not his pants."

Technically, it's a planter box...just a very specific style of planter box.

It could also be used for your Halloween decor when that rolls around (our favorite holiday).

This prototype is made from cedar and we think the idea could also make for a unique style bookshelf.

Tell us what you think.

Back in the shop and making orders again after being down for a while.
First out of the gate: this cedar wind spinner finished with tung oil to bring out the grain, meaning no two can ever be exactly alike. We like that.
