We would like to invite you to our next community tour at Cody Cove Farm on September 13th at 9:30 AM. Farm tours are a great educational opportunity to get yourself closer to growing more food at home. The farm is very filled out right now with tropical growth following many months of hot weather. This upcoming tour will be a great time to see many of the lesser known, heat loving crops. Tours pass through our tropical agroforest, vegetable beds, mixed orchard and other sustainable growing methods. This photo shows the current state of some of our seed production beds. We should have fresh jackfruit from the farm for tasting! We hope to see you there.

Last call for this years “Skinner” mulberry budwood. We offer budwood of this special variety twice a year, as the tree permits. This variety does not propagate well from cuttings and has nematode issues so material received from us should be grafted as budwood. We have a nice video on our YouTube page showing how to graft mulberries. If you miss this round, we are taking pre-orders which will ship in January 2026. Check out our website to read more about the highly productive Skinner mulberry which can produce 5 inch fruits! Link in bio. https://codycovefarm.com/product/skinner-mulberry-budwood/

Here’s some orders of vetiver grass we are shipping out this week. From what I can tell, we are one of the few places that offers this species for mail order. Vetiver grass is an incredible multi-purpose perennial grass. It has deep roots that can stabilize slopes and sensitive situations where erosion is a concern. The biomass can be cut and used as mulch for adjacent plants, as shown in the second photo here. If you’re looking for a source for vetiver grass, we have got you covered. This year I worked hard to plant a lot of vetiver so we wouldn’t run out of stock and would have a continuous supply on our website.
