This morning I paddled to fox island and cleaned a little bit of the island. Found this bucket too. ..as if it was waiting for me...soon we will be doing a group paddle clean up.... saving our seashore one bucket at a time...xo

We are committed to giving back through everyones effort. Saving Our Seashore has generously donated money to a local Boy Scout of West Babylon whose Eagle Scout project was a new flag pole and beach grass & flower plantings at Tobay Beach, a local beach on Long Island. We congratulate him on all is future endeavors and thank him for adding beauty to our beaches.

Saving Our Seashore helps and educates the restoration efforts along our seashore. This Act is something that is more important then you might think... New York seagrass beds function as vital habitat and nursery grounds for numerous commercially, recreationally and ecologically important fish and shellfish species. Seagrasses also serve a major role in the nutrient and carbon cycles, provide an important food source for fish and waterfowl, and stabilize bottom sediments....its like a vitamin for our shellfish...this is a huge stride for seagrass !!!!!!

The new Seagrass Protection Act will allow regulation of seagrass management areas.
