Creating custom cakes and cookies locally on Bainbridge Island

Another fun bake night with friends; the theme was Italian desserts. When we were on our EU roadtrip last summer, we stayed at Borgo Pallavicini Mori (highly recommend!!!) just outside of Rome and they served the most simple yet delicious crostata at breakfast. Not going to lie, I ate it every single morning 😂 When in Rome right?

👩‍🍳 Orders have slowed down after the holidays and I took advantage of that to make a recipe I’ve never made before; Zeeuwse Bolus (Dutch Cinnamon Roll).

➡️ The recipe I used came from The Dutch Table website and the only change I made was to add the sugar to the yeast and warm milk to get it extra bubbly and activated.

I remember the Bakugan phase at our house. This cake was three layers of rich chocolate cake covered in silky buttercream. The colored really brightened my day!
