Bunny Ear cactus, anyone? 🐰

We had a special order request for these super cute Opuntia microdasys.

Don't they look soft and cuddly? Well, they're NOT... Each white dot on the surface of the Bunny Ear cactus is a glochid, which are patches of hundreds of small, hairlike spines) that easily burrow into the skin if touched.

Don't let this deter you from including them in your plant collection... Best advice? Put them in a south-facing window, water regularly, and don't touch! They're far better to look at than to pet 😄

🌟 AIRPLANTS 🌟

Do you love them or hate them?

Airplants can be hard to care for in Eastern Oregon. It's airid here, and airplants need humidity to thrive. That means they need to live in a humid space (bathroom, shower stall, above your kitchen sink) in order to do well.

As far as care, there are dozens of methods out there... here are a few that we have heard customers (around here) having success with or have tried ourselves:

□ daily spritzing with a spray bottle (top and bottom)
□ daily soaking of base/roots only in water (5-10min)
□ running base/roots under water everyday or every other day
□ full submersion of airplant in water once a week (1-2hrs)

Our suggestion? The best care routine for your airplant will depend on the environment you have it in and your ability to consistently provide care. There's no one right way to do it in this instance… so find something that works for you and your schedule, while keeping the plants health and needs at the forefront of your mind!

Look at that leaf pattern... this is a statement plant that needs a sunny window in your home. You can cut back limbs to encourage branching, or let it grow tall to see what height you can reach (likely past your ceiling, over time!)
