Well, I’m late and trying to deal with a frosty shop in early December, but the deer are done for 2025!!! The finishes on these are all listed with each individual deer group. I have 41 left with 24 maple ones ready to be finished. I can go with a darker Danish oil if there’s any interest, otherwise, it’ll be a clear Danish oil finish for the rest of the maple deer.

Prices went way up for lumber in 2025💥🤬💥, so I’ll still be selling them for $15 per deer, but no discounts for ordering more than 2. I’m very sorry, but it is what it is. 🤷‍♂️

It has been a while since I've been able to finish some bowls. In the bowl turning world, the time it takes from the first rough turn to the final finishing turn can take 6 months to over a year. There are different ways to speed up the drying process if you'd like, but that's the usual time it takes for them to naturally dry out.

With that being said, I am about to be able to finish turn a slew of pieces, and here are the first ones. I have a Walnut and Boxelder piece all finished up. The Walnut one is a crotch figure that made me think it was going to explode more than a few times, but I went slow and steady. The Boxelder's major issue was the tear out from soft wood. Again, slow and steady with a crazy sharp bowl gouge got the job done.

My next show is going to be at the end of summer for the Cow Chip Craft Fair in Sauk Prairie (August 30th). Link below. It is my first time at this show, so I'm excited to see what it'll be like.

I'm also going to be making some beautiful heirloom end grain cutting boards in addition to my charcuterie boards. If there's anything else you like to see me make, drop me a line, and I'll see if I can make it happen.

Come on out this Saturday, February 1, from 10 am to 4pm. I will be debuting some brand new pieces including rings (hers and his) from exotic and local wood, shaving kits with badger hair brushes, cheese slicers made with local hardwoods, cigar cutter/keychains, and perfume pens with a wide array of hardwoods. I have also dipped into my hardwood supplies I received from my friend in Greece including Olive wood, Eucalyptus, and Pistachio trees.

I'll be at the Love fest craft fair next Saturday (2/1). I have a bunch of rings of all sizes. I'm also making shaving kits with badger hair brushes!! I'll post some pics when they're done over the weekend!!
