ROUND TWO -- SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY
Here we go again! We've got a moisture rich system expected to move into our area overnight and into Saturday AM/PM depending on locality.
Some areas may see DOUBLE DIGIT lake effect enhanced snowfall - particularly in SWMI in the Orange Shaded area. As you look at this accumulation map, please keep in mind there will be some variation by locality - some lake effect bands may push further east, increasing accumulations for some, but not all. The areas we have outlined are our "best-guess" averages per area outlined. Some areas will trend towards the higher end numbers, some may trend lower.
As you can see here, the bulk of the area is shaded in the lighter purple where we're thinking a general 4-7" range is most likely. Some in Western Lakeshore in the purple MAY see some isolated higher amounts with lake effect enhancement -- hence the "+" next to the 7" on our key. We anticipate that to be the exception, not the rule.
Snow will pick up in consistency into the later parts of the day and into the evening and travel will most certainly be pretty challenging Saturday into Sunday.
**PLEASE NOTE** The area outlined with the dashed white indicators is where we think isolated higher totals are most likely due to lake effect enhancement. This was added to the post for clarity and planning purposes.
The fun wraps up through the day on Sunday as we look ahead towards the work week. The back end of the system is where lake effect will most likely come into play the most.
Folks, be safe out there this weekend!
