If you're anything like us, yesterday was spent making memories with your dad, grandpa, father figure, or the special men in your life instead of scrolling social media... and honestly, we'd call that a day well spent. ❤️

The day got away from us, but we couldn't start a new week without taking a moment to recognize all the incredible fathers out there.

🐾 Furbaby Friday 🐾

This week we're introducing Hosmer, the beloved fur baby of our Dispatch Captain and the first of her two pups to be featured. Don't worry, his younger brother Homer will get his chance to shine in a future episode of Furbaby Friday! ❤️

Hosmer is an 8-year-old Catahoula, although he prefers to identify as a lap dog despite weighing roughly 75 pounds. Around the house, he's known by many names including Tank, Hos, Hossy, Fat Man, and "Can you please move?" 😆

His favorite hobbies include:
☀️ Sunbathing for hours
🚶 Going for walks
🍽️ Magically appearing the second he hears the dinner alarm
🛋️ Pinning unsuspecting humans to the couch and refusing to move

For an old man, he's really just a giant baby. If you're sitting down, he believes your legs belong to him. Once Tank settles in, you're no longer making decisions. You're simply accepting your fate.

His least favorite things?
❄️ Cold weather
🛁 Bath time
🚫 Being told he's already had enough treats

Hosmer firmly believes every meal should include a second dinner, every sunny spot belongs to him, and personal space is highly overrated.

🌧️ Weather Wednesday 🌧️

We've been getting a lot of rain lately, and with more wet weather expected over the next several days, sump pumps across Mid-Michigan are working overtime.

If your sump pump is:

⚠️ Running constantly
⚠️ Making unusual noises
⚠️ Cycling on and off frequently
⚠️ Struggling to keep up with incoming water

It may be time to give it some attention before a small issue turns into a flooded basement.

Before calling a professional, here are a few things you can check:

✅ Make sure the sump pump is plugged in and has power

✅ Verify the float can move freely and isn't stuck against the side of the pit

✅ Check that the discharge pipe outside isn't blocked by debris, mud, or landscaping

✅ Pour a bucket of water into the pit to make sure the pump activates properly

✅ Listen for unusual sounds like grinding, rattling, or excessive vibration

Most homeowners don't think much about their sump pump until water starts showing up where it shouldn't. By then, the damage is already done.

This tankless water heater installation had several concerns, including poor layout, difficult serviceability, and an overall installation that left plenty of room for improvement.
