We tasted our way through the pizza menu at and the pic doesn’t even represent all of the varieties we sampled. They’ve nailed it- from the dough to the flavor combinations, to the not-so-local take on pizza (squares-oh my!) it was fabulous. 💯 recommend when you’re in New Haven next, and if you’re already there and haven’t tried it yet, what are you waiting for!?!

Processed 6 lbs. of cucumbers into bread & butter pickles today and the remainder of our cuke haul laughed at me and said “Tis but a scratch!”

The reviews are in and if you do not live in fear of gluten or carbohydrates and you love bread and pastries, then you have got to try Morning Glory Bread from the sourdough cottage bakery in Belchertown, MA. Their mantra: We are committed to using high quality, clean ingredients and freshly ground flours because we believe our community deserves bread and pastries that are free from seed oils, enriched flours, pesticides, and unnecessary plastics.

On Saturday I picked up an order of peach cobbler donuts- 4 sourdough donuts fried in coconut oil, topped with peach compote and a cinnamon-sugar crumble which was a beautiful balance of sweet & spice. And the chew on the donut was spectacular.

This morning I went back to grab a loaf of sweet cinnamon raisin artisan bread which is swirled with sweet local honey, cinnamon, and raisins. Sweet is in the title, but it's a very balanced sweetness and not too much. This loaf toasted up great and was glorious when topped with a little sea salt cultured butter.

All items were professionally packaged and clearly-labeled with ingredients. They give options to place a preorder on their website by Tuesday night for Sunday pickup, or stop by their pop-up stand and select from available products. I'll be a repeat customer for certain. Even if you're not right in town, we live in an area that's beautiful for a country drive so it's worth making a plan to get here.

When Mother Nature presents me with a snow storm, and I have the good luck to stumble across beautiful beef short ribs at the butcher’s shop, I am morally obligated to make Tom Colicchio’s braised short ribs for dinner, no?

Had the opportunity to cook a pheasant for the first time this week thanks to a mindfully stocked . provided the recipe and voila! This bird was moist, flavorful, and had a most beautiful brown to it. Paired it with some whipped potatoes, pan dripping gravy, and bread stuffing and it was magical.
