My name is Maria Jose and I’m a mother of two spirited boys - Mathew and Joseph. I’m originally from Kanjirapalli which is a town in Kerala, India and I now live with my husband Thomas and sons in Texas. The quietude of the pandemic and postpart
um helped me revisit my love for fabrics and sewing baby clothes - one that has been passed on to me from the women of my family. I can’t help but believe that watching my Grandmother, mother and aunts creating beautiful hand-crafted products like crocheted, embroidered or cross stitched tablecloths, hand towels, bedsheets, and baby clothes fired this passion in me and they have been doing this from the time I can remember. While I was on the lookout for fabrics, I connected with an artisan from the vibrant and historic city of Jaipur, Rajasthan who shared my love for sustainable, craft-based, natural printing techniques and textile. His high enthusiasm to customize designs & colors I have in mind coupled with my fondness for quintessential designs and artisanal heritage paved way to this store .The beauty of block-printing is that the colors are achieved from vegetable dyes or pigment dyes. Thus, creating beauty while responsibly interacting with our planet. This labor of love aims to support the community of artisans in India, preserve the tradition of block-printing and share the legacy of the women of my family.
