Well… this is awkward.

As part of the NEBonsai.com move into BonsaiOutlet.com, some old order records accidentally triggered email notifications.

No new orders were placed. No accounts were compromised. No payments were processed.

Just a migration hiccup — but still, not ideal. We know it may have looked confusing or concerning, and we’re sorry for the scare.

We’re working through it and appreciate everyone’s patience.

Heads up for anyone visiting us this Sunday (tomorrow).

This caught us a little by surprise, but the Town of Bellingham is hosting its Memorial Day Parade on Sunday, May 17. The parade steps off at 1:00 PM from Bellingham Middle School and will travel along South Main Street, and North Main Street.

We usually keep Memorial Day weekend pretty light with workshops, but if you’re planning to visit the nursery, please plan ahead.

Best advice:
Avoid downtown/Main Street around parade time if you can. There may be road closures, delays, detours, and no street parking along the route. Try to visit earlier in the day, or come after the parade has cleared.

Please follow posted detours and police direction. And of course, thank you to everyone participating in and attending the ceremony to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

See you at the nursery — just maybe not by way of Main Street at 1:00. 🇺🇸

Possible alternate approaches:

Use the Franklin exits off I-495 instead of coming directly through Bellingham Center:

I-495 Exit 43 / Route 140 / Forge Park area
I-495 Exit 41 / King Street area
From there, use your GPS to approach us from the Franklin / south side of town and avoid the parade route as much as possible.

Jennifer Price is in town this week, but unfortunately, opportunities to work with her are very limited this time.

She is already booked with a sold-out study group on Friday and Sunday, plus our Year 2 Kaikou students. But we do have two last-minute private workshop spots available on Thursday, May 7th:

Thursday Private Sessions — $295 each

** 9:30–11:30 — Available
** 12:00–2:00 — Sold
** 2:30–4:30 — Available

One spot opened from a cancellation, and the other was due to my own scheduling misunderstanding. These are 2-hour private sessions where you can bring a tree and work directly with Jennifer.

Please note: these may be sold out by the time you click the link.

Also, Jennifer will be here Saturday morning from 9:30–12:00 for a free demonstration. Last year, she started working on a massive Bougainvillea, and this Saturday she’ll continue its development. It’s going to be a great opportunity to see how a tree evolves over time under the guidance of an incredible artist.

Spring Celebration prep is going exactly as you’d expect around here… John standing on the benches to reach “just one more branch.”

If you see a tree looking extra sharp this weekend, there’s a good chance John risked his back for it.

We’re getting the nursery ready, the bonsai are waking up, and the whole place is starting to feel like spring again. Come join us for Spring Celebration and see what all the ladder-less dedication is about.

Spring Celebration is 5 days away!

Only a few workshop seats left:
Bonsai Basics — maybe 2
Japanese Black Pine — 2 seats
Itoigawa Shimpaku — 4 seats

I know people like to sign up in store or by email, but for these workshops, the best way to reserve your spot is to register online. We’re keeping seating limited to 8 students.

I’ll get more Friday night bonfire details sent in a few days. Let’s plan on 6pm.

IMPORTANT: there will be no winter boarding pickups this weekend. We simply won’t have time during Spring Celebration. If you need to schedule your winter boarding pickup, please do that through the booking link on our website under the Service menu.

Good news! Two Bonsai Basics Workshops just opened up for April 25 and 26.

If you’ve been wanting to learn bonsai but weren’t sure where to start, this is the perfect hands-on class.

You’ll work directly with our team, learn the fundamentals of bonsai care and styling, and leave with a better understanding of how to keep your tree healthy and growing beautifully.

These workshops are beginner-friendly, relaxed, and a great way to spend a spring day at the nursery.

Spots are limited, and these openings may not last long.
