Hydrangea season is here 😍 whether you’re looking to plant new shrubs or anxiously awaiting the first blooms of the season on your existing plants, we wanted to take a quick minute to remind you of some important care tips for these fan-favorite flowers!
• Hydrangeas need about 1 inch of water each week, so if it hasn’t rained, be sure to give yours a drink! Always water from the base, not the top!
• No pruning now! It’s okay to cut flowers to enjoy in your home, but save shaping for early fall or late winter, depending on variety.
• Deer love hydrangeas, so if you want yours to keep blooming, consider spraying with a deterrent. We carry an all-natural, family-safe option that works well at the store!
• Remember that flower color can be dependent on soil acidity. If your flowers are suddenly a different color than what you bought, acidity is to blame.
