🌪 A few weeks ago, a small tornado rolled through the Thomas Hill Lake area and left a trail of damage behind.

One neighboring carport didn’t fare too well. The wind picked it up, slammed it into a pole barn, snapped a utility pole in half, and eventually carried it into the trees.

After the power company got the new pole set, we came in to handle the building repairs.

✔ Replaced two roof panels
✔ Installed new corner trim
✔ Replaced damaged rake trim

It wasn’t a huge repair, but it’s a good reminder that building methods matter.

Steel carports and VersaTube-style structures can be a great economical option for the right situation. They’re affordable, quick to install, and serve a purpose.

But when it comes to standing up to Missouri wind, it’s tough to beat a structure built on pressure-treated posts set deep in concrete.

Every building has a job to do. The key is making sure it’s built for the conditions it’s likely to face.

Thankfully this one was repairable, and the property owner is back in good shape 👍

🌅 We started bright and early today…

Well, maybe before the bright 😅

Trying to beat both the heat and the rain, we got an early jump on things and managed to knock out quite a bit before the weather had its say.

✔ Metal roof installed on the new lean-to
✔ Interior trim finished on yesterday’s door install
✔ New lockset installed and everything buttoned up

Some days are all about big transformations.

Other days are about stacking up a bunch of smaller wins that keep a project moving forward 👍

With summer showing up in full force, we’ll keep chasing the shade and chasing progress 🔥

🚪 Out with the old, in with the new.

It was a HOT one today 🥵 and if the forecast is right, we’re just getting warmed up.

Today’s project started with pulling back the metal siding, removing the old door, and getting this new entry door with side glass installed and sealed up 👍

It’s one of those upgrades that doesn’t always seem like a big deal until it’s done.

More natural light.
Better curb appeal.
A tighter, more efficient opening.

And let’s be honest… it just looks a whole lot better 🔥

Sometimes a single door can completely change the feel of a space.

Stay cool out there everyone.

🙏 One of the most comforting things about scripture is that God never asks us to have everything figured out.

We spend so much of our lives trying to plan every step, solve every problem, and prepare for every possible outcome.

But life doesn’t work that way.

Neither does faith.

📖 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5

There will be seasons when the path ahead is clear.

There will be seasons when it isn’t.

The challenge isn’t knowing every answer.

The challenge is trusting the One who does.

Maybe that’s what some of us need to hear this week.

Not that everything will make sense.
Not that every problem will disappear.

But that God is still faithful.

Even when we can’t see the whole picture.

Hope everyone has a blessed Sunday. 🙏

🔨 Made some solid progress on the cabin project lately 👌

We got the new patio door installed and started building the new stair system that’ll connect the screened-in porch down to the pool deck.

This one’s got a pretty cool mix of materials too 👀

The stair stringers are built from composite 2x12s for durability against weather and moisture, while the treads are 2” thick rough cut red cedar straight out of the Ozarks 🔥

That cedar is going to look AWESOME once everything’s finished out.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day weekend has a way of slowing people down a little.

Families gather.Flags go up.Cemeteries fill with flowers.

And whether we realize it or not, it reminds us how fragile life really is.

📖 “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12

Scripture constantly reminds us that life is short, people matter, and we shouldn’t take our time together for granted.

This weekend, beyond all the noise and distractions, take time to appreciate:family, peace, community, and the people you love most.

None of it is guaranteed.

Hope everyone has a meaningful and blessed Sunday 🙏

🔨 We started tearing into an old second story deck on this log cabin this week 👀

Back in its day, this was an AWESOME structure. You can tell a lot of good memories were made out here.

But time and weather eventually catch up to everything.

Years of exposure had taken their toll, so we’re going through and rebuilding a large portion of the deck using pressure treated lumber and cedar to bring it back to life 👍

This one’s definitely a multi-day project, but honestly these are the kinds of jobs we enjoy.

There’s something satisfying about taking an older structure with good bones and giving it another chapter instead of just letting it fall apart 🔥

Going to be a really cool transformation once it’s all wrapped up.

🌤 Sunday mornings hit different.

The world slows down a little.

Coffee tastes better. The house is quieter.Families gather.Church bells ring somewhere in the distance.

For a moment, people stop chasing everything else and remember what actually matters.

📖 “Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

Not every moment has to be loud. Not every blessing has to be big.

Sometimes peace itself is the gift.

Hope everyone has a blessed Sunday 🙏

That’s a wrap on this new build.

Like any big custom project, this one came with its fair share of changes, adjustments, and moments where we had to stop, rethink, and figure out the best path forward. That’s just part of building something custom.

But no matter what came up, we kept moving forward and got it handled 👍

And honestly… this project felt different for our crew.

Something really clicked on this one.

Less stopping to direct every little thing, more everybody understanding their role and working together naturally. The camaraderie on this build was probably the best we’ve had yet, and it made a huge difference from start to finish.

As everything started coming together, the character of the house really showed up. Once the stained trim and custom rebar railing went in, it completely tied the whole place together. The warm wood tones, fixtures, concrete floors, and open loft all started complementing each other exactly the way we hoped they would 🔥

A lot of long days went into this one, but we’re proud of how it turned out and grateful for everyone who had a hand in it.

On to the next 👊

🔨 This build is getting REAL close now 👀

Got a ton of detail work knocked out today and this place is really starting to show its personality.

✔ Custom rebar railing system going into the loft and stairway
✔ Rustic knotty alder cabinets throughout the kitchen
✔ Garage kitchen/bar area coming together
✔ Custom closet doors installed
✔ Loft opened up with some incredible views over the main living area 🔥

This house has a really cool mix of rustic and modern touches that all tie together clean.

And honestly… the loft might end up being one of the best spots in the whole house 👌

We’re getting down to the final stretch now.
