Spring greetings!

Bloomfield Greenhouses is CLOSED for walk-in retail plant sales.
However, I have decided to go ahead and custom plant flower pots for people, especially my regular customers of years past. This is mainly done at the customers home.
 This service is available for anyone who has a desire to have that type of work done or something of similar nature.
For the most part, reaching me is done by phone: 641-664-1622.

We know it’s hard to get gardens in, but when you get the chance, we have some beautiful sweet potato plants, cantaloupe, watermelon, zucchini, cucumbers, peppers and above all tomatoes. They are all looking really fantastic.

Christmas day is bearing down on us.
We yet have in limited supply, 6 foot Fraser fir Christmas trees $39.99. Wreaths, swags, evergreen roping, poinsettia’s, Christmas cactus, lavender trees, and cyclamen plants.
One of these might help with the overall Christmas spirit as a white Christmas seems iffy. That could be ‘hallelujah’ to many.

Seasons greetings!
Already the Christmas season is in full swing, and it’s still November. We do have Christmas trees again this year, all are the Fraser firs which are the premium Christmas tree. They average about 6 to 7 feet tall and cost $69. We have a little Christmas Open House this weekend on Saturday, December 2 from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. We will have a drawing for free poinsettias and refreshments.

We have some herbs hanging around here. The 4th of July will be here in a couple of weeks and if you need some added flavor for your burgers, we still have some oregano parsley, sage, spearmint and for later horseradish. Also, some everbearing strawberry plants, blackberries, raspberries and grapes. Of course not everything will be ready for the 4th of July this year, but next year.

We know we need a rain. However, gardens can still be grown with some basic care. We still have some nice looking tomatoes and peppers hanging around.
We will be closing tomorrow, Saturday, June 17 at 12:30 PM. We need to attend a wedding! Maybe grab a little air conditioning.

The e holiday weekend is upon us. If you still have some empty pots that are at least 12 inches in diameter we have the perfect pot to fill the pot. These $9.99 petunias will fill a pot in no time, rather immediately. These fuchsia colored Vista supertunias perform in the most patriotic of ways. Give a salute and come on over.

For Memorial Day, we have some nice planters to help decorate graves. Even have some patriotic buckets that have the American flag. They really look nice. Red white and blue.

Well, it looks like we may have a dry Memorial Day weekend. I think it is usually raining on Memorial Day weekend, about 80% of the time if I remember right over the past number of years.
However, I think almost all of us are hoping for another wet one again.
As we finish out the month of May, our hours the rest of this week are 8 AM to 6:30 PM Monday through Saturday. Closed Sunday. We will open on Memorial Day from 8 AM till noon.

As we enter into memorial week, at the forefront of our thoughts will be decorating our loved ones graves. Nothing quite like some flowers.
However, it looks like THE week for finishing up the garden. We still have some beautiful tomato and pepper plants.
Eggplant, cucumbers, sweet potato plants, even a few Brussels sprouts, kale and lettuce plants.
Some great varieties of bean seed. Jade, Homerun, and Contender.
