Our second job of the day today, we repaired a washed out set of steps for a customer in epworth. A little over a month ago we had some bad rainstorms and unfortunately those that live right on the river had some bad water erosion. We came in and added 2 yards of crushed gravel. We then added 3-10" x 3.5' deep concrete footers to the affected steps. We also added 10- 60lb bags of concrete on top of the gravel. We installed 3 4 x 4 pressure treated posts underneath the affected steps on top of the concrete footers. Then we finished off the hole with another 1.5 yards of crushed gravel on top of the concrete. Finally, we added fresh new sand (by customer request) to the repaired steps. Today we built and installed this 7' wide x 9' long ramp so the customer can pull their side by side inside of their new shed. First, we Installed a 2 x 8 ledger board with 4" screws and 3" lag bolts. Then we custom made 6 - 2 x 8 joists, secured them to the ledger with joists hangers and 4" screws, and added blocking in between. Then we cut to size and installed deck boards to finish the ramp. Here are before and after pictures of part 2 on a good size railing job we just completed today. We finished the first deck Wednesday, this is the second deck done today. We tore out all the old railing and installed all new pressure treated with hog wire inserts. We started a 2 deck railing job on a beautiful home in Blairsville yesterday. Today we finished the first decks railings and new steps. We tore out all the old railings and the steps with stringers. We built and installed all new railings with pressure treated wood and hog wire inserts. We built new steps for the customers including adding all new stringers (I added a 4th stringer for added support) and treads. The customers did not want risers as it would make it difficult for them to keep the underneath of the deck clean. We will begin work on the second deck tomorrow and will post pictures later this week. Today we built and installed a railing for a great repeat customer at their rental property. We used 4 x 4 stainless steel post brackets bolted down to the rock steps. We used all pressure treated wood and secured the new railing to the existing one. We also fixed a closet door and a decent size scratch on the hardwood floor. Today we sanded the entire front railing and front pillars on this beautiful home in Elijay. We applied 3 coats of exterior water proof paint to all areas of the railings and 3 coats of paint to the 4 pillars and moldings. I also built custom "bird away" boxes (2 of them) for the 2 upper corners of the porch above the 2 pillars. The customer was also having a rodent issue (from digging) on the side of their home, so I dug out the entire area and poured a concrete border and also filled in the areas with concrete to prevent any further damage. Today we stained 46 feet of railing that we previously made and installed about 5 weeks ago for a great customer and their beautiful home. We also tore out 2 - 20 foot split rail fence sections and installed all new posts and rails.
