Happy International Biodiversity Day! Biological diversity is paramount to humanity’s survival on Mother Earth. 1 million animal and plant species are currently threatened with extinction, and yet fish provide 20% of animal protein to around 3 billion people, over 80% of the human diet is provided by plants and 80% of people living in rural areas in developing countries rely on traditional plant based medicines for healthcare. Now is the time to be and support biodiversity initiatives today!

Did you know that spending time in nature isn't just good for the soul, but it might also be beneficial for your ? 🌳🧠

A recent study from Cornell University led by Professor Anthony Ong sheds light on how our enjoyment of nature can impact our physical well-being. The research found that frequent positive contact with nature is associated with lower levels of inflammation in the body – a key factor in preventing diseases like heart disease and diabetes.

According to Ong, the study's findings emphasize the importance of not just being in nature, but truly immersing ourselves in the experience. He noted that even he, at times, finds himself physically present in nature but mentally elsewhere, missing out on the full benefits.

So, next time you're out enjoying the great outdoors, remember to be present and mindful!
