My Grandpa always would say that gardening is a finite resource. You may live to be 85 or 100, but the reason you should savor every gardening season is because only get to experience the sweetest tomato 40 or 50 times. You only get to experience seeing the winter snow melt and spring forth flowers and birds chirping 60-70 times, you only get to taste a fresh apple 40-50 times. You only get to feel dirt under your nails 40-50 times. With such a finite amount of time, there isn’t any time to complain about what you don’t have, what the weather is or isn’t, or what you failed to grow. Savor every gardening season and enjoy every moment in between.
