Take a closer look at Boston University's Mugar Memorial Library: https://bit.ly/4swUI0W

Designed to restore Mugar as the intellectual heart of campus, the proposed renovation breathes new life into the library with spaces for learning, collaboration, and wellness that support digital research and creation.

The project balances preservation of Josep Lluís Sert's original modernist design with adaptations that advance the University's academic mission: making research, scholarship, artistic creation, and professional practice accessible to all, in service of the wider community.

Staying relevant across three centuries of practice is done by honoring your roots and the people you design for. In a recent Traditional Building Magazine feature, President and CEO Angela Watson, FAIA explores the history and challenges of succession planning in architecture, tracing a lineage that begins with Henry Hobson Richardson in the 1800s.

She explains, “I believe we’ve remained relevant and successful because we continue to see our work, as Richardson did, as about places for people and not just about buildings.”

Recently featured in Healthcare Facilities Today, Principal Andre Kamili argues that effective healthcare campus planning extends beyond siting future footprints. Likening master planning to a chessboard, Kamili notes that “sound planning keeps several moves in view at once,” emphasizing that campuses should be viewed as interconnected systems that anticipate future needs and explore new possibilities.
