Please don't be fooled by the NO MAINTENANCE install ads. We are here to serve your turf needs however we are here to inform you all you need to know about artificial turf.
While it is true, you will not have to water your lawn anymore, the fact of the matter is you will still need your trees trimmed and bushes pruned.
Artificial turf needs some maintenance. During installation, installers add a layer of sand on top of the turf and brush it in, making your turf look nice and the bristles standing firm and straight up. However, after time with weather and with traffic use from people or pets, that layer slowly washes out or tracks out from the turf, leaving it look flat after a period of time. Once it goes flat, it starts to become easier to damage from friction or sun exposure. So we recommend every 6 months to a year, depending on use of the area, to get a resurfacing done (sand and brush) to keep the life span of your turf to the max of 15 years.
And be aware, if you have pets or have neighbors that walk their animals, you will get pet odors in your turf. Pet p*e odors will linger in the turf if not antimicrobial sprayed regularly, leaving you with a lovely but kinda stinky yard.
