“Flowers are not supposed to last.”

At first that sounds sad. It’s not.

They show up. Full color. No apologies.
They make you stop, breathe, notice.
Then they’re gone.

That’s the point.
They’re here to keep you in the moment.

Don’t miss it.

Hi, new faces — I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Lizz, the hands and heart behind Norfolk Flowers. I’m a full-time working mom of two boys and wife to my amazingly patient husband. In 2020 we bought this house, and somewhere between the moving boxes and the chaos, I planted my first seedlings.

I didn’t expect to fall so hard for these beautiful blooms. But watching them come up that first season — it changed something. The quiet, the color, the way they demand you slow down. I just had to share it.

That’s how Norfolk Flowers began. It’s a small, seasonal roadside stand tucked into our Braintree neighborhood. I grow what the season gives me: tulips in the chill of spring, snapdragons and zinnias when the days stretch long, dahlias that don’t quit until frost.

These days I find myself chasing seasonal bouquets and arrangements, and I’m deep in the joy of saving dahlia tubers to do it all again next year.

If you’ve found me, I hope you’ll stick around. There’s something about flowers that reminds us we’re part of a bigger, slower rhythm. And I love getting to share that with you.

You want to know how it’s going….?

Let’s just say I’m not quite on top of things yet for the season. Red sharpie is NOT the same as THE Garden Marker…. I need to study the first clip and see if I can remember what was there… whenever the snow melts!!!

What are you struggling with prepping for the season? Share in the comments! 👇🏻

Introducing... ——> swipe for glamor shots and $

Norfolk Inner Light, a dahlia with deeper layers of beauty. 🌺 Pale magenta petals transition to vibrant yellow at the heart, drawing you into its sunny, open center. Single or double layers of petals surround this warm glow on tall plants with dark stems and deep green leaves. Bees are drawn to its prolific blooms all season – for the longest vase life, cut when the bud is about to pop 💐.

Discovered from the Bee’s Choice mix in 2023, Norfolk Inner Light – named after my personal journey to rediscover myself – a reminder that even in shadows, an inner light guides us toward growth. Tending to this dahlia reminds me to nurture that spark – may it bring you as much peace as it does me 🌱.

Tubers will be available to order today! Local pickup only 💛

(Norfolk Inner Light is a personal selection, not an officially registered dahlia variety)

New year, new reflections. This year, I’ve been learning that peace is a practice, not a destination. Some days it seems possible to prioritize my inner calm, and others... not so much. 😅 But the moments I tend to my garden, watch blooms unfurl, and share that beauty with others? That’s where I find my footing.

It’s about recognizing what deserves your energy and what doesn’t. For me, that’s meant letting go of explanations for those who aren’t listening and stepping away from spaces that muddle my mind. It’s choosing silence over being right, and connection over obligation. My garden’s taught me that when I protect my peace, I can hear my own heartbeat – and that’s where the real growth happens.

Growing flowers, sharing them with you, and growing myself... that’s my happy place. 🌼💛

Welp… Let’s just say this “gene” has served me well in the flower gig... but not so much in the lettuce department 🌿! Behind every successful flower arrangement is a lettuce tree 🙃

A little happy dance…

And a lot of research! Dancing through the mist in the garden the other morning celebrating fending off the frost and the garden continues for one more weekend!

The flowers go on!
Come out and get the last of them!

I’m home! I’ve hugged my kids 👦🏼, walked barefoot in the soil 🦶, pulled an irresistible week or two 🌱, heard birds chirping 🎵 , smelled the flowers 🌸, sat around our dinner table 🍕, snuggled my boys at bedtime 🤗and am now in my own bed listening to crickets chirp. It feels worlds away from the beeps and bells of nurse call.

I’m so grateful for this community that’s been with me every step of the way 🙏. Your love, support, and well wishes have meant the world to me 🌎. I’m excited to dive back into sharing flowers and spreading joy through their beauty 🌼💐. And I’m hoping to get flowers out at the stand this Saturday 🌼🛍️... fingers crossed! 🤞
