I have been a professional painter for close to 50 years and I wish I had a dollar for every person that said to me anybody can paint.My reply is yes but not well.Preperation is the most important part of painting. I see alot of new construction where they spray the walls without cleaning off the spackle dust and the walls look like 60 grit sandpaper. When I paint a room I first sand all walls ,check for nail pops and not just hit them in with a hammer .I put a drywall screw next to it and spackle it.Any cracks I open up and spackle. All trim is caulked and all nail holes filled.Primer or deglosser is used prior to two finish coats. Walls are primed and two finish coats applied, sanding between coats.No drips,runs or fuzz from cheap roller covers.Lines are straight where walls and ceilings meet and walls and trim.All paint is top quality as well as roller covers,brushes and tape.Also everything is covered,floors,furniture ect.Also no paint is one coat coverage that is marketing BS.
