It's always surreal to scroll through social media and come across a photo that catches your eye... and you say wait! I know that hair'? Even more entertaining when my mother, who is against social media and doesn't even have it, somehow stumbled upon an ad for a bedding company featuring me.
I began singing at a young age, and by the time I was three, my voice would echo down the hallway of our house. As a child with a significant amount of ADHD, I was always a handful, but not necessarily bad per say. It was crucial for my family to keep me occupied. Growing up in a family business made it effortless with my upbringing around customers, taught me to be a very social creature. By six, I was performing on stage, and my talent took me far and wide, competing in pageants and representing Connecticut for multiple things. Throughout my pageant years, my talent secured me decent placements. In my day to day life I attended an agricultural high school, where I focused on horses, sang in chorus, participated in school plays, and competed in pageants. As Miss Shoreline, my talent was noticed at the Miss Connecticut pageant, and I was approached by the Connecticut USO troop to go on a Middle Eastern tour. After graduating, I learned a 3-hour song-and-dance routine and flew to the Middle East for a tour that took me to several countries. Traveling with the MWR and USO was astonishing, and throughout college, I spent summers touring and entertaining the military. These experiences helped shape me into the multicultural American I am. At eighteen, I realized what I truly wanted in life - a balance between fame and family. After college, I continued to sing and perform while being a mom, wife, and running the farm. Eventually, I had to give up performing to prioritize my family. Now, I see photos of myself in ads and think, 'wait, I know that person.' It's astonishing that I'm being pursued for print and modeling work now more than ever, and I feel grateful to be making money from my images. When I saw this particular ad, I was surprised and amused, but ultimately happy to benefit from it emotionally and spiritually. You never know where you might look at something. And do a double take because my ads generally focus a product like a dog leash, a pet collars, squeekey toys, butcher block dog bones, chicken free chews, nutritional supplements, dog vitamins, car backseat covers for traveling with your dog, animal candles, right down to Primo Guard for making sure that your chicken co-op stays fresh. You never know where you may see Fox Field Farm, or any one of my horses, dogs and cats pop up in an ad because Striker, a year ago, modeled for about 27 different campaigns, and the person that happened to be his coast star was me for some of the scenes. It was even more entertaining when they brought a new york city actress and model to do a chicken commercial at our farm... upon arrival she let the director know she was terrified of chickens... henceworth, the director looked at me and let me be the star of the Chicken Commercial... lol. Because my chickens love their mamma, and we had no problem shining for the camera, as we showed off their product that helped relieve pests and insects that can plague chickens... ( oh yes it's all very funny) I modeled a "do-and-go bag ".... I was literally walking up my driveway with my dog. A leash and a little canvas, pink satchel holding small bags for dog p**p to go in it and I have a director telling me... no do it again, no do it again.... So for an afternoon, I filmed images, ads and reels for dog, p**p bags and somehow wasn't modeling the product correctly.... If we all want to laugh our buns off, I reiterated this story to my friends and family, literally acting like I was the obedient dog being told to sit come and stay.... And let me tell you, I was a very obedient puppy... but it was absolutely hysterical for me to step outside of my life and realize that in this moment.I was being paid to model dog s**t bags... and it was my pleasure to do so!!!!! Lol 😆 🤣 😂
