August Introductions

Here at Organize 65, August is going to be all about introductions. I want you to meet the people who make up my amazing team. You'll meet some long-time faces and some new additions to the team.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🙋‍♀️ I'll start! I'm Kate, the Chief Organizing Officer and founder of Organize 65. I am a former elementary school teacher and nanny. The only thing I ever wanted to do was to work with children. After 11 years in elementary schools and many years nannying in homes (one year on a tour bus for a country musician), I decided my life is all about helping people of all ages. Luckily, that can look a lot of different ways.

I started Organize 65 about 8 years ago. The name came from my move from Chicago to Nashville down Interstate 65. We want to be here for you on your journey to an organized life. We have been very blessed with 100s of projects in so many homes over these past 8 years.

Office Sanctuary

This guest bedroom turned office sanctuary was one of my very first projects I ever did. Back when I did every project by myself. I made my mom come and help me build these shelves. I'm still so proud of how it turned out.

The client wanted an office she would love to work in that could double as an escape away from the craziness of raising two boys. I don't have any before pictures, but it was a guest bedroom that was a catch-all for all the things.

Most of the storage containers and decor were from and . Each little detail was intentional, beautiful, and functional. The client loved the reveal. I only wish I had thought to tuck the cords to be less unsightly.

Love For the Rubbermaid Track
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Garage season is upon us! Whenever we work in a garage, you are sure to find the track system. They are available in boxed sets or you can just buy the track and get the good & attachments you need.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you have yard tools that need to be easily accessible right at the garage door, install a track and hang them so they are off the ground. Do you have kids with lots of sports equipment? There are attachments or baskets for balls, rackets, and equipment. You can create a whole wall for family bikes with the bike hook. Install a track right next to the door to the house with brooms and mops.

Most of the pictures you see here are garages, but you can easily install track systems in attics to hold seasonal decor or anything you want to get vertical. Get those guns off of the playroom floor with the simple multi purpose hooks. So many options!

Love For Our Shoe Box

Dang it! Each time I make a new Product Love post, I think that item is my favorite! We absolutely love using the Our Shoe Box line from on our projects.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This line of plastic lidded bins is at the top of the list for versatility. It comes in so many modular sizes that are great for stacking. Swipe to see some of the spaces where we use these perfect bins. We use them everywhere from the garage to the pantry. From the toy room to the office.

They come in 11 different sizes. The tiniest accessory box is great for small things like crayons or disposable silverware. The biggest box can be used in spaces like the attic or garage. All the sizes in between are modular for easy stacking and a streamlined look.

Love For Glass Jars

We are willing to break the glass ceiling when it comes to uses for glass jars. They are not just made to be used in the kitchen. Swipe for just some of the ways we
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can find all kinds of combinations of glass jars and lids. My personal favorite is a cylinder jar with a bamboo lid. But we will snag a Mason jar from your kitchen to store beans or pasta in your pantry. We will find gorgeous, hearty square jars with ceramic lids to store bath salts and bars of soap in your bathroom. Who doesn't love a snack moment in apothecary jars? I'll even include glass bottles in this category because we have been decanting laundry products lately. I just love the streamlined look of your detergent in a glass bottle with jars of powder and dryer sheets.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Many people might say that decanting is wasteful, but I think it eliminates the visual clutter. Want proof? Just swipe to see the pantries with jars of baking ingredients or snacks and imagine all of the packaging. Or imagine the bulk of your Costco size laundry soap, a giant jug of bleach, and your 500 count pack of dryer sheets on top of the washer. Which is more stress inducing?

And one of my favorite drawers we've ever done is that last slide. There were bags and boxes of every type of tea and matcha you could imagine. The drawer was a jumbled mess. We perfectly fit the drawer with small, medium, and large glass jars for each tea. Though we didn't get a photo of the final look with matching labels, you can see how that drawer would bring peace in the morning with her cup of tea.

Be on the lookout for combos of glass jars you can use in different spaces in your home. They can really change the look of a space.

In Your LMNT

We have so many clients who love drink packets! If you are the kind of family who uses packets, you are going to want to get yourself the bamboo divider.

This container is also great when you have different flavors of bars, jerky, or other snacks. Do you have spice packets that are getting lost in the cabinet? This tray is just right for wrangling stragglers and isn't too deep for your cabinet shelf. The dividers are not super tall so you can see labels perfectly.

Love For the Two Tier Shoe Rack

Stick with me here! You might be thinking you are going to swipe and only see shoes on this simple shoe rack. But there are so many ways you can use it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yes, the most common way to use the Room Essentials shoe shelf is to store shoes. But even when you do, you can get clever. Sometimes you have to make better use of a high shelf. Sometimes you have a sliver of space beneath your clothes. And sometimes the builder of your brand new home decides to make your custom closet with shelves that are 18 feet apart! (Ok I'm exaggerating a little) This little shelf can solve all of those problems.

We will bring in this guy for storing platters at the top of your pantry. You can take smaller containers to use as "drawers" on the shelves. We have built the two tiered shelf without the middle shelf for taller items. Maybe we don't use the top shelf because all you need is a divider. My favorite is to use the shelf way up high and we build the shelves upside down to keep the white showing.

Unlike many of our other product shout outs, this shelf only comes in the one size in two colors. But you can bet we still bring it along on many projects. Bonus: at a $17 price point, you can maximize your space for minimum investment. Don't be fooled, though. It can camouflage in with your beautiful space. Three different spaces you see here are closets of current or former NFL players who loved the way we maximized their space.

Love For iDesign Acrylic

There are simply not enough slides here to show my undying love for acrylic. The options iDesign provides in their acrylic line is unending.

I will admit, the most common space we use them is in the pantry, but you can see all the places they work. They are available in so many shapes and sizes. We use the cubes and rectangles in pantries, in drawers, under sinks, and in cabinets. We also use the pull out drawers, the turntables, the risers, the divided pantry bins, and the affix line.

Most of the Linus line are stackable with handles. That just adds to their versatility. The different sizes allow you to use them like drawer dividers. We use them in laundry rooms and under sinks for cleaning products. We use them in bathrooms for hair products because they are easily wiped clean.

Love For Hyacinth Baskets

Need containment for any thing in any space? Enter the basket! I know, not every basket you see here is hyacinth, but you get the idea. Grab wicker. Grab seagrass. Grab a woven or rope basket. There is so much potential. Our favorite place to find baskets is .
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of the most common areas we use the hyacinth basket is in a pantry to bring in a little natural texture with the clear or the white bins from . This helps contain different types of categories. We also love them in a laundry room or linen closet as you'll see in the project photos.

If you are looking to avoid seeing clutter in an entertainment center or toy area, a basket is a great idea because the clutter can be hidden while the basket can go right along with your decor. As far as bedrooms, you'll see we've used baskets in closets and nurseries. Just be careful not to store anything inside that can get snagged. Stick to items like hats, bags, shoes or the like. Avoid storing sweaters or blankets in a basket unless it has a liner.
