What do you do when there is no pre-printed pattern to tape onto a blank? What do you do when there is no program? No CNC?

Scroll saw work takes time, but it is quite enjoyable work. This is from a 200 year-old glass front hutch. I need to make four of them to match. They sit behind glass in a door.

This first piece is only a template. Something I can risk rather than the original piece, which is getting quite brittle.

From here, I’m hoping to do a stacking method where I can stack all four pieces together and cut them at one time. That is my hope.

If all else fails, I will be cutting one at a time on the Scroll saw.

Gosh I love what I do.

I am very pleased to have this together.

Each new client, every right action, is an opportunity for advertisement and advancement. There is no better creator of quality clientele than word-of-mouth based on a solid reputation for good work.
People who do good work know they’re doing it because it must be intentional. There is study involved, practice, a degree of obsession towards the craft. It can’t be rushed and it also can’t be slowed too much either. There’s a beautiful balance between reasonable time of completion and quality work; a constant dance that never seems to end

Face frame completed for a stack of drawers.

I would be farther along if one of my darling children hadn’t left the freezer door open last night, which ruined some food, soaked my shop floor and came dangerously close to ruining some expensive materials. Been needing to defrost anyway………
