Set against the historic stone façade of the Dime Savings Bank, we designed the outdoor gardens at The Brooklyn Tower to bring a little softness and life to the streetscape. The goal was to work with the scale and character of the building, while making the entrances feel warmer and more welcoming.

Large magnolia trees anchor the garden and help soften the architecture around the entryways. We layered in evergreen shrubs and more sculptural plantings to create different heights, shapes, and textures, keeping the garden full and interesting throughout the year.

We’ve been working with our amazing Greenpoint neighbors Rule of Thirds for the past 7 years, caring for the gardens throughout their restaurant and event spaces.

We recently completed a refresh of their courtyard and outdoor areas, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. The mix of warm wood, aged brick, and lush plantings creates a space that feels welcoming, relaxed, and full of life. It’s always a pleasure helping this beautiful space continue to grow.

If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and grab a meal at Rule of Thirds. The food is incredible, and now the gardens are looking their best too. 🌿🍽️
