GMS Architects At the heart of our story is the Rio Grande Valley—a community that’s grown and thrived alongside us.

A building can be more than walls and a roof, it can be a tribute.

When GMS Architects set out to design the new home for VFW Post 2410 in Harlingen, we looked for inspiration worthy of the veterans it will serve. We found it in the iconic image of six Marines raising the flag at Iwo Jima, a moment that has come to embody sacrifice, brotherhood, and the quiet resolve of those who serve. That spirit shaped many lines of this design.

Harlingen has long carried a deep military tradition. From the legacy of Harlingen Army Air Field, which trained thousands of aerial gunners during World War II, to the generations of servicemen and women who have called the Rio Grande Valley home, this community understands what it means to serve. That culture lives on through organizations like Post 2410, veterans who continue to give back through scholarships, food drives, Toys for Tots, and countless other causes that strengthen the fabric of our community.

GMS Architects is honored to play a small role in shaping a space that will support those efforts for current and future generations. May this building stand as a monument to the community itself, a reminder of what is possible when neighbors come together to lift one another up.

To the veterans of Post 2410: Thank you! This one is for you.

This morning, GMS Architects had the honor of attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the new VFW Post 2410 in the City of Harlingen TX, a milestone moment for our veteran community and the result of years of collaborative effort.

For decades, Post 2410 has stood as a cornerstone of service in Cameron County, with its members raising funds and giving back to countless community causes. Yet the post itself faced an uphill battle, as repeated flooding gradually compromised the integrity of its longtime home. Today's groundbreaking marks the beginning of a new chapter one made possible by the dedication of veterans, public officials, donors, and partners across the Rio Grande Valley.

We are proud to have contributed our architectural services to this just and noble cause, alongside so many others who answered the call. The selfless service of our veterans allows the citizens of this great nation to sleep soundly at night, and it is our privilege to give a small measure of that service back to them.

Congradulations VFW POST 2410 !!!

Special Thank you to Noble Texas Builders, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez, Office of Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño, Jr. and Commissioner Gus Ruiz, Pct.4

God bless our veterans, and God bless America.

🎊 Ribbon Cut. Community Connected. Design Delivered.

We are proud to celebrate the official ribbon cutting of the Bejarano-McFarland Memorial Park Improvements.

Located along the scenic Laguna Madre Bay at 235 E. Michigan St. in Port Isabel, this revitalized community gem now features a Universal Design splash pad and playground, a picnic pavilion, covered basketball court, renovated restrooms, upgraded solar-lit trails, arbor bench swings overlooking the water, a butterfly garden, native landscaping, and interpretive educational signage.

Phase one of this transformation represents approximately $2.6 million in investment, with the full park expansion and renovation estimated to bring a total investment of $8 million to the Laguna Heights community.

It has been an honor to serve as the Architect of Record for this project designing spaces where families can gather, children can play, and the natural beauty of the Rio Grande Valley comes to life.

Huge congratulations to our partners and all who made this possible! 🙌

🎣 What an incredible evening on the water!

GMS Architects was proud to participate in the Port Isabel Independent School District Superintendent's Fishing Tournament on April 10th an event that brought our community together for a truly meaningful cause.

Together, we helped raise an astounding $232,053 in scholarship funding for the students of PIISD. That number represents futures students who will go on to shape our communities, our profession, and our world.

At GMS Architects, we believe great communities are built not just with bricks and mortar, but with investment in the people who call them home. It was an honor to stand alongside Superintendent Teresa Capistran, fellow community leaders, and the incredible live entertainment that made the night unforgettable.

Here's to paying it forward and building a brighter future one scholarship at a time. 🏗️🎓

🎉 Exciting news for the Rio Grande Valley!

GMS Architects is proud to announce the groundbreaking of the new Vanguard Van Gogh Early College High School in Pharr, Texas — a milestone that represents the very best of what happens when a visionary client and a passionate design team come together with a shared purpose.

Vanguard Academy has built their legacy on a powerful belief: "A Purpose in Life, A Reason for Learning." It has been our honor to translate that mission into architecture — creating a learning environment that inspires students, supports educators, and serves the Pharr community for generations to come.

From the first sketch to breaking ground, this project has been a true collaboration. We are deeply grateful to the entire Vanguard team for trusting GMS Architects with such a meaningful building — one that will serve as a new home for Van Gogh scholars as they grow, discover, and thrive.

The Rio Grande Valley deserves world-class learning spaces, and Pharr is about to get one. We can't wait to watch this building come to life. 🏫✨

Congratulations to Vanguards Academy and the entire Van Gogh family! Here's to many bright futures ahead.

The City of Primera celebrated the ribbon cutting of their new Municipal Complex—marking an important milestone for the community.

As the design team, GMS Architects is proud to have helped bring this vision to life—a facility that unifies City Hall, the Police Department, and the Fire Department into one cohesive campus designed to better serve the community.

From programming through construction administration, our team worked closely with city leadership to align operational needs with long-term growth, ensuring the facility supports both current demands and future expansion.

This project represents more than a new building. It reflects thoughtful planning, collaboration, and a shared commitment to creating spaces that support public service, safety, and civic pride.

We are grateful for the strong partnership between the City of Primera, Noble Texas Builderss, and the entire project team. Delivering a project of this impact takes alignment, trust, and a shared vision from concept through construction.

Congratulations to the leadership and residents of Primera on this investment in their future.
