Tyler is sorely missed in this picture but I’m thrilled to have captured 3/4 kids and partners plus sis n fam. It’s always a struggle to get all my kids and rents together in one picture.

Springtime is my favorite season. The world finally opens and the sun shines. With it comes a ton of nonstop work on the farm and I’m here for it. The grass is finally green. The bluebonnets are out in force and it’s just about time to welcome the many people who need some porch time. Let’s all get out and enjoy the spring. My porch is waiting.

This is where I’ll be today. As if the universe knew I needed a day to rest my sore muscles. A day to snuggle and read and rejuvenate. Before the holiday rush that begins next week and doesn’t stop until after the new year, we’ve been given a rainy grey day barely in the 40’s. With my to-do list a mile long this was probably the only thing to make me pause. I’m choosing not to be frustrated by it but to be grateful and listen. Put the kettle on, I’m settling in.

Oh the joy of pickle season is upon us!! These were made possible by the kindness of a friend and neighbor who was overloaded with cukes and needed a break. With the wedding this spring and a total garden overhaul I didn’t get the chance to put in my own and have been missing it something fierce! Thank goodness for gardening friends though. They’ve kept me going and I’ll be sure to repay the favor next year!!

Ok kiddies today’s announcement is a bit late due to the wedding but I’ve finally sorted all my seeds!! Like many of you for years I’ve had a basket or bucket or cardboard box keeping track of all my seed treasures but I just have too many to go that route any longer. I’ve organized mine the way my brain works. Instead of bunching each type together I have planting dates and whether I need to pot them up in the greenhouse or go straight into the dirt with them. For me that’s one less thing I have to think about when it comes time to plant! Then I have an overflow box of seeds I’ve saved that I will never have enough room for. Those are for sharing or a rainy day. And then since I don’t have a huge space for flower gardening yet I’ve used the binder method. Keeps all the flowers together and separate and easily seen so I know I don’t need to buy more! Lol. These sweet little self sealing bags are also a great buy if you save your own seeds or like to share packets with friends. Happy gardening!!!
