GREAT NEWS: We are on the East Side Garden Walk again this year, and Artspace Buffalo Community Garden has received funding from Lunenfeld Beautification Committee. We will work to restructure the pathways and raised bed formation, add in native perennials, and map a way forward with accessibility in mind. We need volunteers to invest sweat equity hours!

Please be aware that ArtSpace Buffalo Community Garden and Gallery/building have had some random neighborhood people loitering and accessing the spaces illegally. Not sure what's happening or who might be fostering this but let's be aware and gently remind folks it' private property and they cannot access those spaces. It's a matter of safety that we know our neighbors and keep an eye out for improper use. Trying to be delicate with my wording, but there has been some upsetting activity especially in the downstairs common space. Let management know or contact 911 if there's any kind of threatening situation. thanks

We were selected as grant recipients...with funds going to creating a beautiful front-facing perennial garden on Ellicott st.

Lunenfeld Beautification Grants.

For 2022, 25 projects throughout Buffalo received more than $18,500—the largest amount to date!

Recipients include block clubs, churches, schools, community centers, and neighborhood business associations. Award amounts are based on the overall project cost, matching funds or volunteer sweat equity, and all projects must be seen from the street and be completed by mid-July.

Each year, our region comes alive with visitors enjoying the creativity of Buffalo Niagara. Tourists and neighbors alike have the opportunity to re-consider Buffalo through the creativity of its gardeners.


Named for the founder of Garden Walk Buffalo, Marvin Lunenfeld, the grants are awarded to garden beautification projects throughout Buffalo. Here are the grant recipients for 2022:

Comfrey is a permaculture favorite plant, and for good reason! It can be made into a super beneficial natural fertilizer, living mulch, companion plant, and so much more. 🌿
