From Pastor Jesse – A Message of Encouragement
I want to encourage someone today who may be holding themselves back because of their past.
Never let your history convince you that you don't deserve a future.
Never let old mistakes convince you that you are incapable of success.
Never let a lack of money, education, social status, popularity, or connections convince you that your dreams are out of reach.
And never let the opinions of people who only know who you were prevent you from becoming who you are meant to be.
There was a time in my life when many people would have looked at me and assumed I would never amount to anything. I had a past filled with mistakes, poor decisions, addiction, incarceration, broken relationships, and missed opportunities. By society's standards, I wasn't the person most would expect to build a successful business, become a pastor, start a nonprofit ministry, write books, or spend my life helping others.
Yet here we are.
Not because I am special.
Not because life suddenly became easy.
Not because every door magically opened.
But because I finally stopped allowing my past to dictate my future.
I stepped out in faith.
I took chances.
I accepted that failure was possible, but so was success.
I learned that God often uses the people the world has written off to accomplish incredible things.
Today, Friends and Family Handymen allows me to support my family through honest work. Sinner's Fellowship Ministries allows me to reach people who are struggling and remind them that change is possible. Neither would exist if I had listened to the voices telling me I wasn't good enough, smart enough, worthy enough, or capable enough.
So if you're sitting on an idea...
If you're afraid to start a business...
If you're afraid to go back to school...
If you're afraid to begin recovery...
If you're afraid to chase a dream because of what people might think...
Take that first step anyway.
You don't have to have everything figured out.
You don't have to have all the answers.
You don't have to be perfect.
You simply have to be willing to move forward.
Someone out there is waiting on the person you are becoming.
Your testimony may be the thing that saves someone else's life.
Your success may inspire someone else to keep going.
Your courage may give someone else permission to believe in themselves.
So step out in faith.
Work hard.
Trust God.
Build something.
Help someone.
And never allow your past to place limits on what God can do through your future.
The world may remember who you were. God sees who you can become. ❤️🙏
