A walkway should do more than just get you from point A to point B—it should guide the entire feel of your space. 💡

For this project, we used natural stone steps set into pea gravel with low-voltage lighting to create a path that’s both functional and visually striking, day ☀️or night. 🌙

It works because it adds movement, texture, and purpose to the landscape—replacing a plain slope with something intentional, usable, and built to last.

Start with a defined gathering space - like a patio or fireplace - before adding anything else.

When we design a backyard, we anchor everything around where people will actually spend time first, then build out features like walkways, lighting, landscaping, and seating from there.

It works because it keeps the space intentional instead of scattered, and replaces the “add a little bit of everything” approach that often ends up underused.
