UPDATE: Trax is 125lbs- he eats 2 1/2 cups food twice a day. 2 cups of homemade dog food and a 1/2 cup of boiled rutabaga. This will last him 7 full days.
I will say making homemade dog food is a pain in the butt. But it's so worth it to see my boys skin so healthy!
On this weekend menu:
5lbs of skinless boneless chicken thighs
3lbs ground turkey
4lbs chicken liver
6 sweet potatoes
6 zucchinis
Half a bundle of celery
1lbs of large carrots
A bag of frozen blueberries
4 cans of green beans
6 rutabaga
We top each bowl with a 1/2 cup of rutabaga.
Trax is completely grain-free. He's a 125lb pitbull who has severe allergies. He is also medication free for the first time in a long time. 🤘🏼

It’s been 2 1/2 weeks now since I started feeding my dogs homemade food and both of them have stopped itching! Poodle and a poodle bishon mix and they had terrible allergies which cost me about $125/month! No more! And my older dog who is a picky eater and now 14 doesn’t wait to eat, she eats it up right away!
Thank you everyone who answered my questions. 🥰
Edit:
3lbs Ground Turkey
1lb of Calf Liver
1lb of Chicken Livers/Gizzards
Sweet potatoes
Spinach
Blueberries
1 cup of Oats
4 tablespoons Coconut Oil
4 eggs
This time I did add peas & carrots so I’ll see if that makes a difference.
I put the meat in the crock pot on low and after about 2 hours I add the sweet potatoes to cook. After another hour I add the remaining stuff in. No chicken brother or any other liquids. The coconut oil and the juice from the meat is enough. Then the oats soak up the remaining liquid.
I even cancelled my dogs appointment for her Cytopoint shot! I am one happy fur baby mama! My babies are not suffering any more. ♥️ 🐶"

Been making my dogs food for 6 years, started because one had allergies and the other had 2 CCL tears. I make this every 7-8 weeks, they get fed twice a day and they are both 65 lbs each. I am not sure why some people put rice in their food, not a good ingredient! But here is my recipe, all veggies are raw except sweet potatoes. All meats are cooked. I spend approximately $150-175 each time. I buy the majority at Walmart, carrots at Sams or Costco. I use a 14c cuisinart to grind everything and a 20lb sausage mixer to mix in 3 separate batches. Makes approximately 75 lbs, 11-12 1+ gallon containers that I freeze. Takes me 3 hours to cook everything the night before and 1-2 hours to chop and mix the next day.
5 - 5lb bags of carrots
2 - 3lb bags of sweet potatoes
4 things of celery
3 English cucumbers
1 bag of apples
3 bunches parsley
3 bags frozen broccoli/cauliflower/carrot mix
3 bags frozen broccoli
3 bags frozen blueberries
3 bags frozen green beans
3 bags frozen peas and carrot mix
3 tins of sardines in water (can use more)
3 - 15 oz cans pumpkin (plain)
18 hard boiled eggs w/shells
10lb log of ground beef
3 bags? Of beef liver, usually $3ish ea
1 Bag of beef cheeks
2 bags beef heart (bjs had that, not always used)
3 - 1lb container of chicken gizzards
3 bags of 2lb organic quinoa (I prepare it)
Supplements:
1/2 coctco sized container of turmeric with
Pepper maybe like 1 T
1 1/2 c melted coconut oil
1 c h**p seeds
1 c chia seeds
MSM powder
Flax seed if I have it
I do not add broth, they do not need it and spices not good for dogs.
This is good for my dogs, mine have never had an issue with raw veggies.
My sister’s dogs get a different recipe because of her dogs allergies….
I have a video on my tik tok aries_red site, I have adjusted to recipe over time.
