Mark Twain Garden Club MTGC has donated flowers and trees to local parks and state and city buildings.

The organization was formed in 1950 to promote interest in beautifying Carson City with more gardens and give assistance to local governments in the choices of landscaping.

WORM-CURIOUS? CARSON CITY GARDEN TALK DIGS INTO WORM FARMING
Carson City Master Gardeners Present October Garden Talk: Worm Farming Carson City, NV — The Carson City Master Gardeners invite the community to attend this season’s first “Garden Talk” presentation. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 11th at 5:30 PM, held at the Carriage House of the Foreman-Roberts House Museum, 1207 N. Carson St., Carson City.
This free, in-person session will focus on the topic of Worm Farming, offering practical tips on these superheroes of the soil world. The presentation is suitable for gardeners of all experience levels and offers an opportunity to learn from local experts and engage with the gardening community.
The Garden Talk series is hosted by a Carson City Master Gardener and is held at 5:30 the second Wednesday of each month from March through September.

Foreman-Roberts House Museum Opens for National Seed Swap Day Celebration!

The Carson City Historical Society will open the historic Foreman-Roberts House Museum on Saturday, January 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in conjunction with the UNR Carson City Master Gardener group’s National Seed Swap Day celebration.

The museum is located at 1207 N. Carson Street, Carson City. Visitors are invited to tour the house while attending the family-friendly seed swap event taking place in the Carriage House.

“We’re thrilled to be part of this celebration,” said Liz Cain, President of the Carson City Historical Society and a UNR Master Gardener. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to bring together gardening, history, and community—and to welcome people into a historic home that many have never seen before.”

The Foreman-Roberts House Museum is operated by the Carson City Historical Society, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
