Confession time.

We once again, have a temporary "house chicken". The chick-sized leg band I *thought* had fallen off was partially embedded in this baby's leg! 🥺🫤 2 days ago, I noticed it limping and scooped him up. Then I saw it - the bright green leg band. Except it was above his knee and I could only see part of it. I immediately cut it off and disinfected the wound. I felt absolutely terrible knowing my ignorance caused this baby pain. It is definitely a lesson learned that will prevent this from ever happening again. Now, it is in a tote inside my house to keep flies and infection at bay.

Learn from me - double check leg bands and make 100% certain they have not slipped up over the knee.

That sound means one thing... more soap is on the way! 🌿🧼

Today I poured a small batch of Honeysuckle cold process soap. I'm trying to step outside my usual bakery-inspired scents and branch out into scents that more people might enjoy. Sweet baked goods will always have my heart. But this floral scent is a beautiful change of pace
and I think many of you are going to love it! 🫶🏻

Saturday night we had one of our 7lb chickens for supper. I put the bones and veggie scraps from the freezer into the crockpot, filled it up with water and turned it on LOW. Two days later, I drained it then pressure canned 4 quarts of dark golden goodness. I cook with broth almost daily.

Anyone else do this every time they eat chicken?
