On Tuesday Feb. 10th at 8:00 am I got started tearing off the original 12x15 deck off this house with plans of building this new 27x16 deck. At 11:39 am the old deck decided to collapse out from under me and dropped me head and shoulder first to the concrete, fracturing the T12 Vertebrae in my back, jamming my shoulder, ribs, and everything else from the waist up. The following Monday Feb. 16th, I was able to get back started on it and with help from some friends over the past 3 weeks was able to finish it today at 3:00. 24 days is not my ideal turn around time on a deck but I am grateful the injury was not any worse and grateful the homeowner was patient and let me work on it as slowly as I needed to.
