LONG POST ALERT!!!!
What a year it has been. If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all. Ive resisted making a post for a while. Im not complaining, it just gets to be alot sometimes. At one point, I was throwing up every morning from the anxiety.
Over the past year I have hired six people. Each one having their unique issues that lead to them moving on, their choice or mine. Some couldn't match the quality I expect, some couldn't handle working outside and others just didn't want to work. All this after I went out and found work to keep a 4-5 person crew going.
The constantly shrinking crew left more and more on my plate. At first, my 50 hours goes to 90. But when the second one goes, you cant make up the time. I do not believe, I have had a day off this year. I get out of bed go to work everyday, and return home in time for bed again. New Years, birthdays, Easter and the fourth of July, I worked them all. Twelve hours has become a short day. Ive ran 85+ hour weeks since March.
The result, I became a cliche contractor. Im hard to get ahold of and harder to get to your house. I hate when the phone rings, and I use to get so excited.
That s**t stops now!
I developed a mindset of "I do it anyways." I have days were I wanted to quit so bad. Maybe I sat in the truck and gave my self the poor me, but I never gave up.
I have been quite literally working my ass off. I lost thirty pounds in the last 12 months.
Im catching up one job at a time. Please be patient.
Ive lost clients over all these issues and I understand that. At the same time im alright with that. It gives me more time for others.
I learned alot this year and will continue to push forward. I sincerely love my work. I love the clients, kids and their pets. I dont know how I did it, but NAG Services has the best clients around.
As long as you're here, I will be too.
The smiles were tough for while, but we found them again.
As always, keep on smiling! It gets better, I promise.
