After months of dirt, spreadsheets, emotional support plants, and asking myself “am I really doing this?”…

My plant shop opens TODAY at 10 AM.

If you like plants with attitude, a slightly spooky vibe, and a space that feels just haunted enough to be interesting—but still friendly—this might be your place.

Hours:

🚗 Parking PSA:
On-street parking only. The side lots aren’t mine, and I’m trying to stay on the neighborhood’s good side.

Come look at plants, pretend you’re “just browsing,” and silently judge how many I’ve already named. I’ll be the one covered in dirt … and pretending this is totally chill.

Uncommon and Rare Plant Sale Alert! Would anyone be interested in coming over to shop in my greenhouse on New Year’s Eve (Tuesday Dec 31st) or New Year Day (Wednesday Jan 1st)? It’s not big enough to have “open” hours, but I could set up 30 minute appointments (or longer if needed) so you can have the whole greenhouse to yourself to shop :) There are lots of plants in bloom- it smells amazing in there 🥰 (I think I am the largest Hoya grower in Iowa. I have over 600 different varieties!) I also have Dischidia, Scindapsus, Alocasia, Monstera, Philodendron, and more! (Full list below👇🏼)

I live on the northwest side of Cedar Rapids about 2 blocks away from the Johnson Ave Hy-Vee.

The greenhouse is packed from the floor to the ceiling! Most plants will be priced to sell because I’m out of room and don’t have time to ship. I will try to have things set up where each section in the greenhouse is a specific price for the plants in that section- to make it easier to shop.

I have super small starter plants all the way up to large hanging baskets. I am also willing to take cuttings from most plants for people interested in getting more plants at cheaper prices.

I prefer Cash 😉 but I also accept, Venmo, Paypal, Zelle, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Facebook Pay.

Please message me if you would like to set up an appointment to come over. I am a night person- if you can’t come until midnight, thats cool with me! My yard is lit up like the Griswold’s because of how many grow lights I have in there, so it’s not a problem to come over when it’s dark out.

I am having a huge local purge on Saturday Dec 7th starting at 2:00pm in the “Iowa House Plant Lovers” Facebook group! If you are local to the Cedar Rapids or Des Moines Iowa areas, feel free to join that group to see what I have available!

I live in NW Cedar Rapids (about 2 blocks away from the Johnson Ave Hy-Vee) for pick up and am available almost any time.

For my Des Moines area friends- I will be delivering to The Plant Dealer on Wednesday, and she has kindly offered to keep any order from my sale at her shop for pick on Thursday 12/12 from 10am-7pm, Friday the 13th from 10am-5pm, or Saturday 12/14 from 10am-3pm to avoid shipping fees! The Plant Dealer is a great plant shop in Newton! The address is 118 1st St N, Newton, IA 50208. They offer a huge variety of plants from common to rare! Some of the plants she offers come directly from me! ♥️ She also offers amazing subscription boxes! I highly recommend checking out The Plant Dealer!

I prefer Cash but also accept Venmo, Paypal, Zelle, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Facebook Pay.

All plants are rooted, unless specified. I might offer some cuttings.

The first to comment sold gets it. I usually have lots more of each plant. If a plant you want has already been claimed, feel free to still type sold and contact me.

I have several Hoyas for sale that are getting ready to bloom! 🌸🌼🌺
Most of the plants will be Hoyas but I will also be selling some Dischidia, Scindapsus, Epipremnum, Monstera and Philodendron.

I’ve been working on getting everything re-potted (out of sphagnum moss) but some plants are potted in soil, some in a coco coir/coco chip mix, and some are still in a sphagnum moss/perlite/orchid bark mix.

I regularly treat for pests as a preventative with various different pesticides.

On Saturday August 17th at 1:35pm - My 14 year old daughter was riding her moped home from work when she was the victim of a hit and run. She was driving on Edgewood PKWY SW (across the street from Culver’s, Unity Point Urgent Care, Panchero’s, etc.) and had a green arrow to turn left onto Edgewood Rd SW. The driver of a maroon sedan ran his red light, then hit my daughter.

The second video shows the driver leave the scene as my bleeding, shaken, and concussed daughter was helped by other people (I am so grateful!) who witnessed the accident.

My daughter heard his voice because he yelled at her about being in his way before he fled. She said the driver sounded like an “older” male with a raspy voice.

Does this car look familiar? Does anyone know who owns this car? Or even a possible location of the car? If so, please please please send me a message!

The police have already closed the case because the license plate is too blurry to see. I went to every business (all the way down to 16th AVE) explaining the situation and asking if I could view their video, if they had any cameras facing the road. They all said the only way to access any of their videos is if the CRPD has a subpoena.

Any help finding this person would be greatly appreciated!!
