Years ago the kitchen was considered a “private space”. Its sole purpose was to prepare food. No one ever considered inviting their guests into the kitchen to socialize. Often the kitchen actually had a door that separated it from the rest of the house, as a result, guests didn’t socialize there.

Today the kitchen has become a “public space”. In addition to cooking, the kitchen sometimes serves as home office, homework center, casual dining room and a room to entertain guests. It’s no wonder the kitchen has earned the title “The Heart of the Home”. Because of that fact, it’s also no wonder why the kitchen gets so much attention when it comes to remodeling. Originally being contacted by the homeowners to reattach and stabilize two additions that were falling off the home, they soon asked us to transform the entryway, dining room and staircase (featured as: “Redoing the 1970’s Style Staircase”). It didn’t take long for the homeowners then to decide to continue their home improvements and asked us to do just one more project: a kitchen remodel.
