Pet stains in hardwood floors are more than just surface discoloration. Over time, pet waste can soak through the finish and react with the natural tannins in oak, creating the deep black staining you see in the “before” photos.

For this Centerport project, simply sanding the floors wasn’t enough in the heavily affected areas. We carefully removed the damaged boards, patched in new hardwood, and blended the repairs into the surrounding floor as part of the refinishing process.

A lot of homeowners assume pet-stained floors automatically mean full replacement — but that’s often not the case. With the right repair approach, even heavily stained areas can often be restored beautifully.

Memorial Day 🇺🇸
Today we remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice gave all of us the freedoms and everyday moments we often take for granted.

Big transformation underway in Centerport!

This home had a mix of old flooring, tile, pet-stained areas, and different materials from room to room. Our goal was to create one cohesive hardwood look throughout the house.

For this renovation, we’ve:
✔️ Sanded and refinished the existing hardwood
✔️ Patched damaged and pet-stained areas
✔️ Removed layers of old tile and flooring
✔️ Installed new red oak to tie everything together seamlessly

It’s still a work in progress, but the difference already feels dramatic. Creating a consistent flow throughout a home can completely change the way the space feels.

🌎 Happy Earth Day, Long Island!
