I am so very proud of my 22 year old son Wesley.. He does this level of work everyday, with or without me.. I constantly critique him on the little things and I rarely give him the praise he deserves.. The amount of work that this change out requires with all new ductwork is ridiculous.. It was a wood burning gravity flow furnace, converted to a dual fuel heat pump/propane furnace system.. If you know, you know.. He did at least 75% of this tear out and new system replacement by himself.. Wes is a 1%'er.. Great Job, Son

Some of our customers don't want to put in a complete cooling system to get ride of their real problem, HUMIDITY... However, some areas like church basements, crawlspaces, workshops, safe rooms, or garages can be really humid, sometimes resulting in mold, mildew, or musty smells.. So we got in touch with an AprilAire Representative and we ordered some of their dehumidifiers to allow people to try it out for awhile to see if it's something they would be interested in.. We recently completed our HVAC and water heater installation for our giveaway.. I would like to Thank our sponsors along with Wesley Zigler and John Matthews for donating their time to help me give this family a much needed system replacement.. This project didn't go according to plan from the beginning. Every step of the way we were running into problems.. We couldn't get the ductwork through areas to supply the front part of the house.. We immediately changed our plan. Wesley and I ended up installing a Mini Split for the front part of the house, a new 95% furnace and 13 SEER Condenser for the back part of the house, and John installed a 50 gallon electric water heater.. As we got further into this job it became very clear that we made the right choice on who received this gift.. Their old furnace and water heater were both fire and carbon monoxide hazards.. You can see it in the BEFORE and AFTER pictures. Thanks Again to everyone who made this happen for this family.

*Update*

A family has been chosen for the HVAC and Water Heater Installation.. I received 15 nominations, with a couple people receiving multiple nominations.. I went to look at 5 of them to see the mechanical issues they had.. The other families I had work history with, so I was familiar with their situation.. It was a tough decision but there was one family I felt had an insurmountable amount of mechanical problems.. I notified them yesterday and the work will be completed by the end of this month. This family will remain anonymous unless they choose not to be. I will likely post pictures of the work when we are done. I am really looking forward to getting this done for them.. In the words of the person who nominated them "They are two caring elderly people who had a rough decade and wanting to bring them some joy!"

I have received 15 nominations for our HVAC and Water Heater Giveaway.. I will be reviewing them in the next couple days and making a decision within the week.. *UPDATE on July 7th post*

Several businesses and individuals reached out to me following my post about installing a Heating and Air Conditioning system for a Piatt County family in need.. After talks with several of these business owners, I feel we have enough to move forward on this.. We could always use a couple more business that want to help lighten our load on it, so if you are interested please contact me before the work is completed.. Piatt County HVAC and Water Heater Giveaway

Xtreme Mechanical and ZIGS are teaming up to help a Piatt County home owner (Residents within the city limits of Ivesdale included) replace their Heating and Air Conditioning system and install a new Water Heater.. The equipment will be donated to the home owner by Piatt County Businesses and individuals listed above.. It will be professionally installed by volunteers who work for ZIGS and Xtreme Mechanical.. The goal of this giveaway is to reduce the burden of utility costs and just help someone that really needs to catch a break.. We would like your help in finding the perfect family for this gift..

*RULES and Qualifications for Nominees*

1) If you would like to nominate someone please do it discreetly and contact ZIGS on FACEBOOK Messenger.. Detailed description of why you feel they would qualify. Including work history..
2) No immediate family members of the businesses making a donation..
3) Nominees must own their home,.. No rental properties or renters will be considered in this selection
4) How long have they owned their home? We don't want to help anyone flipping houses..
5) Must live in Piatt County or the city limits of Ivesdale
7) People who are Disabled, Elderly, Families, Health Problems, and struggling financially from Covid will take priority in our selection..
8) All work will be performed in the fall.. Nominations will need to be made by August 31st.. I will annouce the recipient shortly there after..

We are trying to help a family that really needs it.. Not someone to profit from our goodwill.. Please think long and hard on your nomination if you decide to nominate someone.. I look forward to hearing from you..

With everything happening in the world over the past couple of years.. I have been kicking around the idea of giving back to the local community that has supported my business and other businesses within our community.. I am creating this post to gauge the interest in my idea...

I am thinking about asking local businesses to partner with ZIGS and sponser a complete home Heating and AC replacement for a family in need within Piatt County.. The businesses who co-sponser this with us will get to select one family in need to nominate in Piatt County.. There will be requirements for the nomination.. Non qualified nominations would include the businesses or individual making the nomination and immediate family of the person making the nomination.. So an unrelated employee would qualify.. Maybe someone you know who has had health problems during the last couple years.. The goal is to give back to someone in need within our community and I would like to focus on that.. Obviously, I haven't worked out all the details.. It's simply an idea at this point.. Honestly, I would like to keep it as small as possible, Maybe 10 businesses with 10 nominees.. ZIGS will do the installation of the equipment for the randomly selected nominee..

If you own a business that would like to partner with us on this please contact me personally to discuss details and come up with a plan.. If there is enough interest we will make it happen

ZIGS is experiencing an extremely high number of calls and text messages, 200+ in the last 3-4 days.. We are working as quickly as we can to get to everyone as soon as possible.. Until the end of May, we will only be scheduling emergency repairs and system replacements in Piatt County and surrounding towns just outside of Piatt County, such as Ivesdale.. Unless you are an existing customer outside of that service area.. We will not be scheduling routine check and clean services on AC systems unless there is a problem with the system until the end of May.. Thank you for understanding and we will get to you as soon as we can..
