Arbor Design Advice Arbor Design Advice pairs homeowners with a design question with three designers that match the homeowners' style goals. This is why I'm starting Arbor.

Designers can accept / deny each question, and make money on each question they accept. I started Arbor Design Advice based on something that I needed, but couldn't find anywhere: Professional interior design advice on individual questions, that I could get an answer to within 1 - 2 days. I wished I had an interior designer who knew my style, and I could text one-off questions to! My Story:
In Oc

tober 2021, we had an overnight flood that completely destroyed our newly purchased home. My family was displaced for over a year and we decided to turn lemons into lemonade by going beyond restoration and remodeling it to become our dream home. As we figured out how to proceed, my husband and I struggled to make design and architectural decisions with confidence. We hired an interior designer, who was amazing, but I struggled to find an efficient relationship with her since our timelines were constantly in flux between our builder, insurance reviews, sub-contractors, etc. Often, I had an urgent question that I wanted to get right, but needed an answer to within 2 - 3 days rather than weeks or months. I know many homeowners want expert guidance, but struggle to figure out where to start, and how to spend their budget efficiently between design expertise and materials. I want to help homeowners source design feedback on specific topics as they surface -- which would have been incredibly
helpful to me this past year. I also want to help designers build their network of potential clients through micro engagements that also drive remote, incremental income for just sharing your advice.

If you have ever felt stuck in the career that you’ve worked so many years to achieve… And then have the balls to go build it, there is a heck of a lot of value in that. Even with slow growth, it may not be the end I’ll be all business but you’ve learned the tactical steps and systems to go try something else new. That’s what I’m telling myself at least. If you are a millennial mother juggling work and kids while trying to create a vision that has been whispering in your ear and taking up real estate in the back of your mind, share your business idea. I would love to hear it. And I’ll be continuing to experiment because Home runs don’t usually happen on the first try.

We’re traveling to my FAVORITE CITY IN THE WORLD for garden and home inspiration: Charleston, SC. Eeeek!! Still nerd out even though we go almost every year.

This is the list of my top 3 favorite restaurants exclusively for their design aesthetic. Historic homes with all the charm — both inside and out.

Circa 1886 is in an original carriage house of a historic mansion and is sooo elegant.

Husk is American cuisine in a Victorian home with these dreamy little pathways out to a garden. We’ve been before and keep coming back - it’s just casual enough.

Poogans - this is also in a historic Victorian! Known for its ghost stories!! (We’ve gone on ghost tours in Charleston like 3x and it’s still fun haha)

Save or send to a friend who is planning a Charleston trip! Especially if you love good atmospheres just as much as good food.

Sadly this fothergilla is for sure ☠️ . But there have been so many times I’ve waited it out and pampered the plant and it’s come back! 🌱
