Our clients called us regarding a new home and land they bought in Middlefield. They fall in love with the land, but did not like the layout of the house for there family.
They wanted a modern country flare, The kitchen had to have a large walk in pantry and large island for cooking. A more flowing concept from the kitchen into the living. A master suite with a private bathroom to include: A walkin shower and bath tub for soaking. A second bathroom for guest and more living space on that end of the house.
The whole job had a time frame because the Mrs.was having their second child and wanted to deliver the baby in the house.
We started by opening up walls to create a pantry off the kitchen, we took room out of a utility room that house the hot water tank and well items. We widen both doorways into the kitchen and added faux beams out of wood to bring in the character she was looking for. This same wood and beams were used for above the stove and mantel for the fireplace.
We closed in a door way from the living room into the back area. We redesign this space to give a more functional area, Master Suite, Master bathroom, walk in closet, a 2nd bathroom and we created a new hallway off the kitchen to give a better flow. A marble walk in shower with a free standing tub was used to give and open concept in the master suite bathroom. A custom bookcase was designed to match the vanity. This also helped hide plumbing coming in from the well into the house.
We laid all new Luxury vinyl floors, the two tone cabinets along with granite countertops and walnut island counter rounded out the country flare. We refaced the fireplace, to give a warm homely feeling in the living for gatherings.
The best part of the job was, we did make the dead line and got the job done two weeks early. Not only did they move into their new home but they had there new baby in that home!
