Introducing… VENUS IN VINES POTTING SERVICE 🪴

I am now offering local potting services in the Asheville area. If you provide the pot and the plant, I will pot it according to its needs, and provide the potting medium, drainage rocks, and optional mulch. Ex: sphagnum moss or mulch for orchids, sandy soil mix for cacti and succulents, etc.

If you have a pot you love with no drainage, I can also drill a drainage hole in it for an additional $10 charge.

For those outside my service area, I still offer consultations in which I can guide you via video or phone call through the potting process and advise you on materials and maintenance.

Marimo, or moss balls, are a rare form of algae that collects in a sphere as it travels along the sea floor. They are native to Japan and Northern Europe but are available at garden centers around the world! These velvety beauties make a great addition to a fish tank or on their own like mine (with a fake fish friend)!

💦WATERING TIP💦
When watering your plants from the top, allow water to drain out the drainage hole at the bottom completely before replacing the plant. This prevents water buildup in the drainage tray and subsequent root rot. If you water the plant and the water drains immediately through the drainage hole, try soaking the plant a few more times. This usually means the roots are dehydrated and are having difficulty absorbing the water initially. Making a schedule can help prevent under-watering and dehydration. Also remember to lessen your watering in the winter!
