Part 1 | Choosing Natural Stone

Natural stone is meant to be beautifully imperfect. Variations in color, veining, movement, texture, and tone are all part of what makes each piece unique.

That’s why reviewing lot photos and ordering a sample from the exact lot is such an important part of the process. No two shipments are ever identical, and seeing the material in person helps ensure you feel confident before installation begins.

A little preparation upfront makes all the difference when working with a material shaped by nature.

Originally from Cincinnati and now a Charlotte local, Emmy brings creativity, warmth, and an eye for thoughtful design to every project she touches. When she’s not in the showroom, you can find her painting, walking with her dog Cleo, practicing yoga, or trying to keep her ever-growing collection of houseplants alive.

After 7 years in the design world and nearly 3 in tile and stone, Emmy believes the best spaces are the ones that feel personal, functional, and uniquely you. Her advice? There’s no one “right” answer in design. Choose what brings you joy.
