Crafty Ashley

For 10+ years, I’ve discovered a love of handwriting and personalizing items for friends & family. After the recent death of my Papa Bill, I rediscovered this passion (and huge stress reliever) so now I’m firing back up Crafty Ashley.

The cover photo sat in my floor as a blank wooden pallet sign for over a year & a half. It matches my beautiful, hand-crafted headboard (see below) made by a dear friend and former co-worker. One day I envisioned painting my monogram (true Southern Girl here) but never got around to doing it... Fast forward to October 2017, during my grandfather’s funeral I could barely keep it together but I watched as my grandmother (affectionately known as Mama Mae) sang and rejoiced the lyrics above during the service - Great is Thy FAITHFULNESS, Morning by Morning New Mercies I See. And I was simply amazed at the strength of this woman who would later tell me, my grandfather didn’t think a funeral was complete without singing this old hymn. I couldn’t get these lyrics out of my head... I was so moved! So in memory of my grandfather, I finally knew exactly WHY I had waited so long to pen something on the blank wooden pallet sign... and what a perfect reminder to wake up to morning by morning!
