Years ago, my dad owned a Powermatic 66 table saw like the one shown here. His was made in the early 80's, and he bought it new. He loved that saw more than any other tool in his shop, and I learned to use a table saw on that machine. This is my new-to-me Model 66 built in 1998, and it's a beast. Dad would be proud.

FYI, the lid on the Esso can was made and signed by dad in 1987. The plywood it's made from would have been cut on his Model 66. I like that.

Hopefully dad would approve of my use of his *very* old compass to aid in trimming out our new banquette. "A little caulk, a little paint, makes a carpenter what he ain't."

Here's a quick pic of some progress made this week on the sunroom ceiling. Much more to come. The white stuff is closed cell foam insulation that was sprayed a few weeks ago.

And in with the new insulation! Closed cell spray foam 3 inches thick instead of fiberglass more than 12 inches thick. Took 3 days of spraying while in full hazmat gear, but we love the results. A huge thank you to LKN Sprayfoam (Randy & Kisha).

Out with the old insulation! Spent two full days vacuuming the old fiberglass out. Nasty job. Animal skeletons, itching all over, hot/sweaty attic, trips to the dump... not fun. But a necessary part of the process.

This is our sunroom. The low ceiling wasn't getting it done, so that went out the window... literally. The wood you see is the back of the roof deck and is about to be covered with insulation. But stay tuned. We'll figure something out.
